With the launching of mobile telephone services in Hetauda and Narayangadh Tuesday the number of cities with the facility have increased to six. The service was limited to the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Biratnagar and Birgunj before its expansion.
Addressing the function organized to mark the launching of the mobile phone services in Hetauda and Narayangadh, Minister for Information and Communications Ramesh Nath Pandey said the government was working towards making cell phone services available to a larger section of the population.
Under the programme to expand the mobile phone service, the Nepal Telecommunication Corporation has already carried out homework to make the incoming calls toll free. Homework is being carried out to decrease the tariff of the outgoing calls. nepalnews.com am Apr 16
