The Refugee Coordination Unit (RCU) has suspended the facilities against 17 Bhutanese refugees who are suspected to be involved with the Maoists, however the refugees escaped from the Beldangi camp before they could be arrested by the security forces.

According to reports, the seventeen fled after security forces arrested seven other refugees who were caught carrying arms.

Following the rise of on-the-spot security checks in the camp, many refugees have escaped from the camp.
