The Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) on Tuesday refused the Supreme Court (SC) order to review the Military Court’s verdict relating to the court martial of Major Prajjwal Basnet.
“There is no constitutional obligation to furnish such kind of decision before any non-military body and a civilian court can neither enter the jurisdiction of the Military Court nor can it issue orders against the latter’s verdict,” said the RNA in a letter sent to the SC.
The apex court on May 26 had ordered the Defense Ministry and the RNA to furnish the files relating to the court martial of Major Basnet.
Basnet had filed a writ petition at the apex court seeking its intervention regarding the matter.
