KATHMANDU: The workers of Nepal Telecom while excavating in Kalimati, Katmandu, found remains of a prehistoric creature, possibly a mammoth.
According to experts, this prehistoric creature lived about 40,000 years ago. The archaeologists are studying the fossils further.
The Himalayan Times, quoting Sagar Shrestha, excavation officer at the Department of Archaeology, said, “The whole body of the creature could be there, we must excavate to find it.” He added that it was a missed opportunity that the archaeologists did not get a chance to study the fossils right away.
The fossil got slightly damaged during the dig.
