Suspected Maoist insurgents carried out a minor bomb explosion early Tuesday morning at the police post in Lubhu of Lalitpur district, adjoining Kathmandu, police officials told Nepalnews.

According to police, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, the police post has been damaged, police said adding a search operation have been intensified in the area.

In another incident, Maoists shot and severely injured a head constable in Gokarna of Kathamndu, Tuesday morning.

The constable- Raghubir Panthi- was rushed to the TU Teaching Hospital and is undergoing treatment, police officials said. His condition is reported to be serious.
