Maoists looted the branch offices of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank, a private bank, and the state-owned Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), at Bahrabise Bazaar, Sindhupalchowk district, on Sunday.
Reports coming in say armed Maoists looted Rs1.7 million from the NCC Bank at Bahrabise this morning. One of the security guards of the bank was injured in the scuffle with the rebels.
The group also robbed the ADB branch office in the same town about the same time. The amount looted from the ADB branch was not immediately clear.
Talking to Nepalnews, an official at the District Administration Office in district headquarters Chautara confirmed the incidents but refused to divulge the details.
