The CPN-Maoist has said it will not hold peace talks with the Deuba-led government. The decision came following a meeting of the Central Committee of the party held recently at an unknown location in Dang district.
Quoting inside sources, Annapurna Post daily Thursday said the rebel leadership has ruled out the possibility of dialogue with the government citing the latter’s failure to make suitable environment for talks.
The report further said the rebel leadership has also urged the King to explain his idea of resolving the present crisis. The Central Committee meet has reiterated the demand for United Nations’ mediation in the peace negotiations.
The Central Committee has, however, decided to initiate dialogue with ‘anti-regression’ political parties including the Nepali Congress, the report said. The Maoists are yet to disclose the decision of the meeting officially.
