Manju Koirala passes away

Manju Koirala, wife of late Prime Minister Matrika Prasad Koirala, died of cardiac arrest on Monday. She was 85.

Koirala was rushed to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, after she complained of sudden complications in her chest, family sources said. She had been suffering from high blood pressure since last few years.

Late Koirala, mother of senior journalist and CPN (UML) leader Kamal Koirala, was actively involved in women rights movements before and after the democratic change of 2007 B.S. She is sister-in-law of late Nepali Congress leader BP Koirala and incumbent NC president Girija Prasad Koirala.
