His Majesty King Gyanendra left for the Eastern Development Region on an unofficial visit Friday afternoon.
According to the Palace officials, King will visit various districts and learn about the state of affairs there. The officials told Nepalnews the visit is for ‘about a week.’ No further details were provided.
There are 16 districts in the development region.
It is King Gyanendra’s first visit of its kind after the royal takeover of February 1.
