KATHMANDU: The agitating political parties, minus the CPN-UML, continued their protests against regression Tuesday.
Cadres of Nepali Congress, People’s Front Nepal, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and very few numbers of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandi Devi) activists were seen in the street chanting anti-‘regression’ and anti-Deuba slogans. More pro-republican slogans were heard than in other days.
A rally was taken out from Ratna Park in the afternoon, which marched past Bagbazar, Putalisadak, Bhadrakali, New Road, Bhotahiti and converged into a mass meeting again at Ratna Park.
Addressing the gathering, leaders said the appointment of Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister was also a part of ‘regression’. They were also critical of the CPN-UML for backing out of the agitations.
