Local authorities in Kathmandu and Lalitpur once again extended the night curfew by one hour on Wednesday, starting at 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Issuing separate public notices this afternoon, the district administrations of Kathmandu and Lalitpur announced to extend the curfew within the Ring Road. The decision will come into effect from today itself.
The district administration had imposed curfew orders on Monday.
The curfew orders came two days after the simultaneous Maoist attacks on two police posts in suburban Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts, killing 12 security men and injuring half a dozen others.
The district administrations in their notices said the security forces have been allowed to shoot anybody trying to break the curfew orders.
