A crowd has vandalized the offices of Space Time Publications and Channel Nepal television Wednesday.
According to reports, the crowd vandalized a number of vehicles parked inside the premises of Space Time publications at Shantinagar in Kathmandu. They also destroyed around two-dozen computers and cameras in the office.
Space Time Network owns Channel Nepal-the first private sector television channel in the country.
The same group that vandalized office of Kantipur Publications had later entered into the premises of Space Time and engaged in vandalism, reports said. “It looked like a premeditated move,” an employee with the Network said.
In separate incidents, Minal Pandey of Nepal 1 TV, Kiran Pandey,
photographer of Himal Khabarpatrika and a journalist with Image metro received injuries while covering today’s protests. The vehicle of Image Metro was also vandalized, reports said.
In a separate incident, a mob entered into the house of former minister, Chiranjivi Wagle, ransacked the house and destroyed two cars and a motorcycle parked inside the house, reports said.
Police have been looking out for Wagle, a senior leader of the ruling Nepali Congress (Democratic) party, after a special court in Kathmandu convicted him on charges of corruption last month.
