Suffering from backache and loss of appetite since the last three weeks, Rizal’s condition got more serious from Sunday, Nepal Samacharpatra daily quoting family members said Monday.

A 58-year old diabetic patient, Rizal was taken to Bir Hospital for treatment on Sunday. “He is also suffering from fever. He has not eaten anything since last the few days,” the daily quoted Rizal’s wife, Kaushilya, as saying.

Rizal has been staying in Nepal for the last two years with his family. According to reports, the ailing veteran rights leader has been gravely disturbed by the royal move here as it has overshadowed the Bhutanese refugee repatriation process.

Over 100,000 Bhutanese are taking refuge in refugee camps in eastern Nepal.
