The leader of Communist Party of India – Marxist Sitaram Yechury will come to Kathmandu on November 15, according to Indian daily newspaper The Times of India. The daily reported (in its November 12 edition) that Yechury will arrive in Kathmandu “a day before the Seven Party Alliance and the Maoists sign an agreement, which will result in the creation of SPAM (Seven Party Alliance and Maoists), the future political outfit to be at the helm in Nepal.”

The daily added that this will be the third visit that Yechury will be making since King Gyanendra was forced to restore democracy in April.

The daily quoted ‘a senior Nepalese leader’ as saying that Yechury will have detailed discussions with various political groups on the likely future scenario and apprehensions. “He will be back playing the role of interlocutor to avoid any last minute derailment,” the daily quoted the leader as saying.
