World Postal Day today

The 131st World Post Day is being celebrated today amidst various programs with the slogan is ‘Universal Postal Network- Reaching All in All Places’.

In a message given on the occasion of the day, Minister for Information and Communications Tanka Dhakal expressed the belief that each and every consumer using the postal service, which reaches every person and every place, could contribute for the peace and welfare of each person, family, society and the nation.

Minister Dhakal also said that Nepal’s postal service should play the role of a linkage between all Nepalis and the government of the present day Nepal, which is moving ahead on the journey of peace and development in keeping with its glorious role in the unification of Nepal and consolidation of the nationality.

Minister for Information and Communications Dhakal has also expressed the commitment that Nepal would take effective steps in making its postal services better with the employment of technology and standards in order to translate the slogan into practice.

The Minister for Information and Communications also extended best wishes to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for its continued progress on the occasion of the World Post Day.

Meanwhile, in a message on the occasion of the World Post Day, the Director General of the UPU International Bureau has stated that the postal sector has played an important role in reducing the digital divide around the world.
