The World Commission for Protected Area (WCPA) has established a base in Nepal by opening a secretariat, an announcement said. The WCPA is one of six commissions of the Switzerland based IUCN working in nature  conservation globally.

Dr. Uday Raj Sharma, Director General of the Department of Plant Resource, is vice chairman of WCPA South Asia.
