Vitamin “A” Programme to cover all districts

The free distribution of a Vitamin “A” programme first launched in 73 districts in 1993  to reduce  child death rate and control night blindness will cover all 75 administrative districts from this year, an announcement said.

The programme will be extended to the insurgency affected districts of Rukum and Jajarkot for two days from October 29. A district level programme to train health workers was launched in Jajarkot Wednesday.

Altogether 3.2 million children aged between six months and five years will be administered Vitamin “A” pills.
