The visiting delegation of senior Indian politicians named as ‘Nepal Chetana Yatra’ met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and CPN (UML) general secretary Madhav Nepal Thursday.

The delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party general secretary, DP Tripathi, met with Koirala at his residence in Baluwatar this morning. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Tripathi said India supported the ongoing efforts to restore democracy and permanent peace in Nepal.
The Indian leaders also handed over the Nepal Chetana Yatra flag to PM Koirala and the goodwill message of former Indian Prime Minister Chandrashekhar.
Prior to the meeting with Koirala, the delegation also met with UML general secretary Nepal and discussed the current political scenario of Nepal.
The Indian leaders arrived in Kathmandu Wednesday evening after visiting several Indian and Nepali towns. The 12-member convey started its Nepal journey from Kakarbhitta in eastern Nepal.
Former Indian Prime Minister Chandrashekhar had inaugurated the Nepal Chetana Yatra, which is aimed at informing the Indian people about Nepal’s successful democratic movement and further enhance the good relation between the people of the two countries, last week in New Delhi.
