Vehicular traffic between Dang and Salayan was restored Monday after security forces removed roadblocks put by Maoists on the highway linking the far west districts nine days ago, Radio Nepal said quoting its local correspondent.

Roadblocks along major highways have disrupted vehicular movement creating shortages of meat and vegetables in major urban centres, including the capital.

Insurgents attacked offices of a village development committee, co-operatives and post office at Govindapur and Sijiwa villages in Morang district Sunday, police said.

The rebels blasted an empty police outpost and a health post at Hatia in Udaipur district Sunday, officials said.
