Kathmandu, June 30: A delegation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce led by its president Rajesh Kaji Shrestha met with Ambassador of the United States to Nepal
Mr Ralph Frank and held discussions on expansion of trade between Nepal and the USA.
On the occasion, chamber president Shrestha expected cooperation from the US Mission here for increasing US joint ventures in Nepal by maximising contacts with the US-based industrialists and businessmen and for export growth of Nepalese products in the US market.
Expressing happiness over the decision of the US government to provide multiple visa for five years to Nepali industrialists and business, he urged regular exchange of information and visits between the private sectors of the two countries and the US Mission to play positive role as facilitator in this regard.
Mr Shrestha stressed direct air link between the two countries to increase the number of American tourists in Nepal and regular organisation of exhibitions, trade fairs, seminar and interaction.
The US Ambassador to Nepal, Mr Ralph Frank said that the United States has given importance to its ties with Nepal and that the American private sector was willing to invest in Nepal and expand trade relations.
There is a vast market for Nepali products in the United States, the Ambassador said, urging Nepal to gear ahead towards agro-enterprise development and green revolution.
He assured of the continued cooperation from the US Mission in facilitating the exchange of information and visits between the businessmen of the two countries.
The first vice president of the Chamber Jagdish Prasad Khetan, second vice-president Surendra Bir Malakar, general secretary Suresh Kumar Basnet, treasurer Bhakta Bahadur Malla and secretary Balram Rajbhandari were also present on the occasion.
