The university teachers have decided go on strike starting September 30 following the indifference shown by the Tribhuvan University and the Mahendra University to their demands, a press release of the Nepal University Teachers’ Association (NUTA) said.
NUTA has stated that the teachers will tie their hands with black cloth, as a show of protest in the beginning, which will be followed by other programmes.
“The university teachers have been forced to resort to protests since the two universities have made decisions to dampen the teachers’ dignity and have been insensitive to our demands,” the press release said.
