The UNICEF has drawn its attention about the deteriorating children’s right and their involvement in the ongoing conflict between the security forces and the rebels in Nepal, Space-time daily reported on Thursday.
Carol Belami, Director of the UNICEF speaking at the meeting of the Security Council in New York said, ”Schools of rural Nepal have been turned into rebel camps and students have suffered the most.”
“I suggest the Security Council to work towards protecting the innocent students and people of Nepal from being attacked, raped and captured.” Carol said. Carol also informed the Security Council about frequent Maoist’s attack in schools and hospitals.
Referring to different countries where children are compelled to be involved in wars, Carol said the UN’s work to fight for children’s right was not enough. “We still have to work a lot for their rights,” she said.
