The meeting of the standing committee of the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML), on Tuesday, has appealed to the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) to stop its violent activities and settle differences through talks.

The UML has condemned the recent brutal murder of one of its district-based worker Krishna Neupane by cadres of JTMM (Goit faction).

Neupane was killed in Hazariya of Sarlahi district.

Meanwhile, the UML has welcomed the decision of the top leaders of eight parties to promulgate the interim constitution on January 15.

Earlier, talking to reporters general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal revealed that the leaders did not want to discuss amendments to the interim constitution as it could have led to “complicated” situation. “If those amendment demands are justified, we can still make changes on the basis of understanding,” he added.
