UML to push for constitution amendment bill

KATHMANDU, April 7 : General Secretary of the main opposition Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, today strongly directed lawmakers to effectively raise voice in Parliament in bringing in the bills on the Constitution amendment and corruption control.

“General Secretary Nepal gave strong directions to the UML lawmakers for effectively present themselves in the parliament meetings for bringing in the bills specifically on Constitution amendment and corruption control,” said Yuba Raj Gyawali, UML Office Secretary.

UML leader Nepal had given the directions while speaking during the CPN-UML Parliamentary Party meeting held in the Parliament Secretariat. Nepal had given directions so as to table the bills during the ongoing 21st session of Parliament.

Speaking on the occasion, Nepal also asked the lawmakers to strongly back the recently forged all-party alliance to fight Maoists, Gyawali said.

During the meeting, the main opposition also criticised the government for not presenting bills to parliament to empower the Commission for the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority, the formation of a special court and another bill to curb corruption.
