Over forty UML cadres handed over a memorandum to general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal Thursday expressing disenchantment over the unhealthy competition among top notch leaders to rise to power instead of focusing on problems before the nation.
The group of cadres among whom are general convention representatives was led by former central member and incumbent National Assembly member Bachaspati Devkota.
In the memorandum the cadres have lamented that at a time when the mainstream political parties have failed to spearhead a movement against the existing political regression in the country, the UML despite being regarded as a progressive party is also lagging behind due to internal differences among leaders.
The cadres have accused the top notch leaders of resorting to partisan interests within the party instead of providing effective leadership. The cadres handing over the memorandum are identified of being close to senior UML leader K.P. Sharma Oli. nepalnews.com am Apr 11
