KATHMANDU: The Nepali Under-19 cricket team will play practice matches against Namibia and Scotland in Sri Lanka before beginning the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2006 campaign, reports said.
Quoting the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), The Kathmandu Post said Nepal plays Namibia at Bloomfield on February 2 and Scotland at Moratuwa the next day.
Nepal is placed in Group D along with England, Zimbabwe and Ireland for the event and will meet England in the first match at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground on February 6. The match against Zimbabwe is scheduled for February 7 at Colombo Cricket Club while European qualifier Ireland meets Nepal on February 9 at Nondescripts Cricket Club.
The top two teams from each group qualify for the Super League series while the bottom two go to the Plate Championship.
