Kathmandu, Oct.18: Two expeditions scaled the 7167 metres high Pumori in the Khumbu region Monday, the Ministry of Tourism said.

Zbigniew Mlynarozyk leader of an 11- member DAV Summit Club team, Norbert Bannert, Josef Winkler, Tshering Dorje and  Nawang Gimbi climbed the peak near Sagarmatha, the world’s tallest peak, through the south east ridge.

Rodrigo Ponce and Alejandro Minakata of the six-member AIC Pumori expedition also climbed the peak through the same route in the current autumn climbing season.

Pumori is very popular with climbers because it is relatively small compared to other Himalayan giants and is easily approachable.
