Nepalese Association of Houston, a non-profit organization has requested all people to contribute in the “Help Arbind Fund” to support a Nepali student, who is suffering from Lymphoma Cancer.
The Association said that Arbind Bhattarai, a 22-year student of Kalanki Kathmandu was studying at Houston Community College.
“According to his physician, his health condition is serious and he now needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. Since Arbind does not carry any health insurance, and he is neither a permanent resident nor a citizen of the US, he is facing an uphill battle to get admitted to a hospital with such capabilities,” the Association said asking all to contribute in the fund for him.
Nepalese Association of Houston has set up the “Help Arbind Fund,” to help defray the cost of his treatment, details of which is available online at www.helparbind.com/.
Likewise Chicagoland Nepali Pariwar, a very small Nepali community and friends of Nepal in Urbana-Champaign has asked all to contribute for the treatment of Jessica Yonzon, a young Nepali girl.
Jessica was taken to Peoria last Thursday by helicopter, when she became ill. Though she will be discharged from hospital soon, she has to be operated on her heart in the near future.
A few thousand dollars is needed to supplement the copays for medicines, lodging and fooding during their stay in Peoria and Champaign. More importantly, Jessica has no assistantship for the summer, the Chicagoland Nepali Pariwar added.
