Two Nepali Maoists arrested in India

Indian police have arrested two Nepali Maoists linked with the CPN (Maoist)-affiliated Madhesi Mukti Morcha (Madhesi liberation front) in the Indian state of Bihar.

The Maoists identified as Nayan Mahato alias Wakil of Siraha district and Ashok Mahato alias Chandrabir of Madhubani were apprehended from Mubarak Chowk near Mufasithana, Bihar, on Sunday.

Local Indian newspapers said the two have admitted to have purchased firearms costing Rs.88 thousand each from a local arms vendor called Guddu Miyan of Mubarak Chowk.

Two pistols and some bullets were recovered from the Maoists, reports said.
