Two armed Maoists were killed in Ilam district of east Nepal in an encounter with the security forces Friday afternoon, reports said.
Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the site. There was no losses on the security, initial reports said.
In another incident, the Maoists attacked and injured a police personnel in Marchwar of Rupendehi district on Friday afternoon. The injured policeman is undergoing treatment in Bhairawa hospital.
Similarly, in Bhojpur district, the Maoists killed one-security personnel in a grenade attack and injured another. The injured has been brought to Dharan for treatment. The security forces are searching for the insurgents in the area, reports said.
The identities of the the dead and injured security personnel have not been disclosed.
The Maoists have killed one Dol Raj Thapa, a CPN-UML activist, while they freed Ram Krishna Thapa in Nuwakot district. The rebels abducted the Thapa duo together two weeks earlier from Arukharka in Nuwakot.
The Maoists have also disrupted the drinking water supply in the headquarters of Kalikot district. Water reservoirs stationed on the nearby hill have reportedly been bombed and destroyed by the rebels. The district water supply office has said that it had no budget to build or to repair the bombed reservoirs.
Likewise, 15 community schools have been closed in Dadeldhura district following the Maoists demand to stop raising fees, reports citing managing committee members of the schools said.
