Two Maoists killed, five injured in two encounters

Kathmandu, June 26: Two Maoists were killed and five others were injured in two separate clashes with police in Jhapa and Morang districts Monday night.

One rebel was killed and five others are feared injured in an exchange of gunfire with police at Maheshpur village in Jhapa where the insurgents attempted to torch a police outpost, police said.

Maoists fled with their injured. Police fired on a group of  rebels extorting money from villagers at Petriya in Morang and killed a Maoist, police said.
