Two Maoist area commanders were killed Monday morning in a forest of Dhurkot VDC when joint security forces deputed from the district headquarters of Nawalparasi retaliated against the rebels, Radio Nepal reported quoting security sources.
Those killed in the retaliatory attack were Gopal G.C alias Bimal Jaisi, resident of Madanpur in Kholuba VDC and Gobinda Adhikari, resident of Sivamandir-7, Koilapati.
The security forces recovered two socket bombs, a FM radio set, torch light, donation pad, paddy, rice and a list having the names of businessmen and schools. The same group of rebels had attacked the police post at Basabasahi at Tilakpur VDC destroying it completely.
The security forces in course of the search operations recovered seven rifles, one thousand bullets, mosquito nets, 200 Kg of hemp and sleeping bag from Salli bazaar area of Salyan district in western Nepal and Dhusen area of Sindhuli district in mid-eastern Nepal, Radio Nepal reported quoting the Defence Ministry.
The security forces also defused five socket bombs planted in Dethla area of Baitadi district Sunday.
