Over 20 Tribhuvan University Employees Association staff were injured when police intervened a protest programme organized by them.
Police intervened a sit-in rally organized by them demanding immediate appointment of the vice chancellor and other top official posts of the University.
According to reports, police baton charged saying the protestors had entered a prohibited area. However the protestors said the police intervened their peaceful protest programme and that they will stall all work at the University till the government apologizes for the misbehaviour.
Starting from central office of the Association at Ghantaghar, the protest rally passed through the old bus park and Bhadrakali before converging into a sit-in in front of Singhdurbar, the main administrative hub of the country.
The UML affiliated student union, All Nepal National Free Student Union, is also organizing various protest programmes demanding immediate fulfillment of vacant top posts of four universities of the country.
The top posts of four universities remain vacant for months after the officials appointed during the direct rule of the King resigned from their posts following new political development of the country.
