Three workers die of suffocation

Three employees of a factory in Kathmandu Saturday died of suffocation from the light-coal heater (locally known as makkal), they had lit in their common bedroom to keep them warm, published reports said Sunday.

The three dead were the employees of Himalayan Noodles and were found unconscious in a room inside the factory compound in Basundhara, Dhapasi VDC-9, the reports said.

Those who were found dead were identified as Dipesh Tamang, 18, from Sanglekhola, Suman Tamang, 17, from Sarlahi and Buddhi Parja, 18 from Chitwan, the reports said.

Jeevan Tamang, 20, from Sanglekhola, was found unconscious, but is reported to be out of danger now after receiving treatment at the Teaching Hospital, according to the reports.
