A Bangladeshi court has handed out life sentence to three Nepali citizens, including two women, on charge of trying to smuggle nine kg of hashish out of the country, a news agency report said.
According to AFP news agency, Judge of the additional metropolitan session court, Nazrul Islam, said Sunita Pun Magar, 30; Bindu Maya Tamang, 28; and Lal Bahadur Tamang, 40—were part of an international drug trafficking gang.
The trio were arrested by customs officials at Dhaka’s Zia International Airport on May 6, 2001 after hashish was found in their bags.Lal Bahadur was arrested later.
