Three Maoists shot dead, 6 surrender

Three Maoist militants were killed in security operations in different parts of the country Monday, reports citing Defense Ministry sources said.

Reports also mentioned that six Maoists have given up armed activities responding to the government call for the same.

A Maoist militant was shot dead at Gularia-6, Balapur in Bardia district this afternoon. Another rebel was killed at Rajapur-6, Antapur while trying to attack security forces.

In a similar incident, one Maoist was gunned down in Bajura district. A gun, a homemade pistol and Rs.77 thousand cash was recovered from the Maoists.

Security forces, according to reports, have claimed that six Maoists have surrendered in Dolpa, Sankhuwa Sabha and Bajura disricts.
