Three Maoist district leaders arrested

Security forces have arrested three district leaders of the outlawed CPN (Maoist) in the southern Siraha district.

In a raid on Friday, the security forces arrested the rebel commanders of Siraha, Dhanusha and Saptari districts, according BBC Nepali Service. In-charge of Dhanusha, Sarlahi and Saptari, Surya Nath Yadav alias Subash, Saptari district secretary, Ashok Mandal alias Amar and Sudan Rai, a member of the cultural group of the rebel party were arrested from a house at Kachanahi area, Saptari district.

A Chinese pistol, bullets and cordless phones were recovered from the Maoist leaders.

Meanwhile, security forces have arrested two district leaders of Terai National People’s Front, a Terai-based underground insurgent group, in Sarlahi. Birbal Yadav and Dharma Nath Yadav were arrested from Jhijula area on Friday, reports today said.
