The government has announced to hold annual School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations from April 4 this year.
According to the Ministry of Education and Sports, over 378,000 students will appear for the SLC tests this year across the country.
The Ministry has informed that there will be 1100 examination centres across the country – more by 102 centres compared with the previous year.
Recently, the pro-Maoist student wing had launched agitation demanding that the government expand the examination centres to make them accessible to students of far-flung villages. “We have made our best efforts to set up the centres ensuring access to as many students as possible,” said Laba Prasad Tripathy, spokesperson of the Ministry.
