As top Maoist leaders are holding consultations with the leaders of seven political parties and intelligentsia in the capital, CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal said that there is still lack of confidence between the Maoists and the seven political parties.
Speaking at the inaugural of a training program of party cadres in Nepalgunj on Monday, Nepal said, “The seven parties and the Maoists are not fully convinced about each other yet. This misunderstanding should end.”
He urged the Maoist leadership to leave the politics of intimidation and urged to join the politics of ideology.
Nepal further said that the next rounds of talks between the government and the Maoists should be held after thorough homework.
“The talks were held without homework, so the process was protested widely. We don’t have to repeat such mistakes,” Nepal added.
He also said that the Maoists’ behaviour still has not changed. “Positive talks was held with Prachanda and Baburam on Sunday in Kathmandu. But I am feeling sad after hearing that the people of Rajapur are still suffering at the hands of the Maoists.”
Nepal further said that the seven-party alliance will not split under any circumstance.
