Their Majesties King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah visited 11 different Shaktipeeths (shrines of Goddesses) in the Kathmandu Valley and paid homage to the Goddesses on the occasion of Maha Astami, the eighth day of the Bada Dashain festival, on Tuesday.

According to RSS, the official news agency, Their Majesties visited Naxal Bhagawati, Guheshwari, Maitidevi, Kalikasthan, Bhadrakali, Sankata, Mahankalsthan, Naradevi, Raktakali, Shova Bhagawati and Indrayani and offered worship to Goddess Durga Bhawani as the embodiment of power and strength.
