Pokhara, Feb. 13: Their Majesties the King and Queen graced the Purnahuti and concluding function of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran and Dhanadhanyanchal Mahotsav held at Shiveshwar Temple of Lekhnath Municipality in Kaski district today.
On the occasion, Their Majesties visited the venue of Mahapuran and Dhanadhnyanchal Mandap and paid homage and made burnt offerings at the Laksha Hawan Kunda (altar).
At the ceremony, Their Majesty went around the Mahapuran and Dhanadhanyanchal Mandal, Laksha Hawan Kunda and Shiveshwar temple.
On the occasion, Their Majesties received Tika, Rakshabandhan and Prasad from national spokesman of the World Hindu Federation and Baachan Shiromani Pandit Narayan Prasad Pokharel.
Earlier, on arrival at the Mahapuran venue, the Royal couple were accorded warm welcome by the Mahapuran and Mahotsav organising committee convenor Chandra Krishna Karmacharya, mps Shukraraj Sharma and Prakash Bahadur Gurung, district development committee chairman Punya Prasad Poudel, mayor of Lekhnath Municipality Shaligram Poudel, cdo shyam Sundar Sharma, Surya Mohan Bhattarai, Capt. Tirtha Bahadur Gurung and others.
The Mahapuran and Mahotsav will last for nine days.
