Their Majesties King Gyanendra and Queen Komal are in Pokhara the headquarters of the Western region in course of a weeklong visit to the Western Development Region.
During the visit, their Majesties will learn of the state of affairs of the districts in the western region.
Their Majesties will grant collective audience and directives to the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the District Development Committees (DDCs) of the region.
According to official reports their Majesties are scheduled to have direct interaction with the people of Gandaki, Dhaulagiri and Lumbini zones.
According to state-run Radio Nepal, the streets of Pokhara are decorated with welcome gates in celebration of Their Majesties’ visit while thousands of people from all six districts have assembled in Pokhara to meet Their Majesties.
Their Majesties are scheduled to take civic felicitations in the zones of Western Region. Their Majesties are staying at the Ratna Mandir Palace of Pokhara.
Their Majesties will visit Baglung, the zonal headquarter of Baglung district Wednesday, and Butwal, the zonal headquarter of Lumbini zone Thursday.
Earlier, King Gyanendra had visited districts in the Eastern, Mid and Far western and central region of Nepal after Royal takeover of February 1 to access the security situation of the regions and to listen to the grievances of the local people.
