The army Wednesday evening returned to the barracks after three days of heavy patrolling to maintain law and order in the capital during a three day national strike called by Maoists to oppose Wednesday’s snap polls that was never held.
The defiance against the national strike called by the Maoists was seen to be more intense as taxis and three wheelers in increased numbers showed the courage to ply the streets of the capital city on the third day of the national strike.
Despite the courage shown, the streets still looked deserted with shops along the major thoroughfares of the city pulling down their shutters completely.
