KATHMANDU: Minister for Health Kamal Thapa, who was chief guest at a programme organised in the capital Tuesday, received applause and praise from one and all present when he lashed out at the mentality of lauding everything that is foreign, RSS said.
Stating in Nepali that there was a compulsion to speak in English with difficulty even for a the benefit of just eight to 10 foreigners, he advised the organisers of programs to make provisions of interpreters
for foreign friends. Most of the audience and the target group also were Nepalese at the programme to mark World AIDS Day.
Sarcastically remarking that if the organisers had saved money by organising programmes not at expensive hotels but at places where the poor patients lived, they need not have gone elsewhere to purchase necessary drugs. The programme was held at Yak and Yeti Hotel.
