Temporary teachers have again decided to launch fresh protests from January 10 against the verification of Education Bill.

The Temporary Teachers Struggle Central Committee (TTSCC) said on Friday that the recently-approved Education Bill was in violation of the agreement reached between officials of the Education Ministry, representatives of the eight parties and the TTSCC on December 24.

Earlier temporary teachers ended their strike on December 24 after the government agreed to include the provision of giving permanent status to all temporary teachers in the Education Bill. However the provision was amended while verifying the bill following protest from students.

As per the recent provision, all temporary teachers have to appear exams to get permanent status.

TTSCC president, Nirendra Kunwar, accused the government of cheating the temporary teachers by approving the Bill.

Kunwar said, “As per the Bill, temporary teachers have to compete with 200,000 fresh candidates to become permanent.
