Nepal Telecom has extended the deadline for re-registration of pre-paid mobile phones by a week. Out of the total 142,000 lines distributed in the Kathmandu Valley, only 112,000 clients have re-registered their pre-paid mobile phones till Sunday.
The Telecom opened re-registration of pre-paid lines, which remain suspended since February 1, from 6 th August. Re-registration can be done atBhaktapur, Chabahil, Naxal, Hattigauda, Kirtipur, Balambu, Patan and Bhadrakali Plaza counters of Telecom, officials said.
Madan Kaji Shakya, director at the New Services Directorate said, “Pre-paid mobile owners who could not re-register within the deadline could go to these counters.”
Shakya, however, did not specify the date for the resumption of mobile services.
The Directorate has said that re-registration for 32,000 pre-paid customers outside the Valley will open after the service comes into operation in Valley.
