More than 125 teachers working in government schools in Morang district have been working for years on the basis of the fraud educational documents, a report on Sunday said.

The Rajdhani daily reported a source as saying that these teachers with fake Indian certificates have been employed in more than a dozen schools in the district.

The source also said that more than 60 teachers have also presented fake certificates for promotions.

The teachers who presented these fake certificates have never taken leave for their examinations. They were teaching in their school while their examinations were being conducted in their universities.

The source claimed that the Indian universities have responded to an inquiry letter of Tribhuvan University saying that the symbol number that has been asked for is present in their list, according to report.

The source said that even when it is clear that the teachers have presented fake certificates, the District Education Office has not taken any action against them.

Chief of DEO Morang Sushil Pandey said that certificates of all the teachers working in Morang district have been send to CIAA for investigation to reveal the actual qualification of the teachers. He also said that DEO cannot take any action until the investigation of CIAA is completed.
