The padlock at the Social Welfare Council (SWC) opened after 14 days on Tuesday.
State minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Urmila Aryal reopened the Social Welfare Council on Tuesday after 14 days following the strike called by the SWC employees against the reappointment of Dr Prabha Basnet as member secretary of the SWC.
The cabinet had re-appointed Dr Prabha Basnet as member secretary of SWC following the Supreme Court verdict to do so.
State minister Aryal, Members of Parliament, Pradeep Kumar Nepal, Ram Bahadur Gurung, Ram Chandra Adhikary, Hari Bhakta Adhikary and president of Employees Association, Prakash Bhatt were present at the opening of the SWC.
The cabinet on Monday appointed Dr Ritu Prasad Gartaula as its member secretary.
