Deputy Prime Minister Amik Sherchan Wednesday said all the political issues would be “automatically solved” in the proposed summit meeting between the Seven-party alliance (SPA) and the CPN (Maoist).

Emerging from a cabinet meeting the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Sherchan said, “We are going to hold summit talks very soon. All the political issues will be automatically solved at the table of summit talks.”

Home Minister KP Situala said the government’s talks team would first discuss with the three-member talks team of the Maoists and fix the date of the summit meeting of top leaders of the SPA and the CPN (Maoist).

“It will be organised at the earliest,” Situala, who heads the government’s talks team, said adding that key issues including the election to constituent assembly will be finalised by the summit meeting.

It is said the summit meeting would take place after the leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and NC (Democratic) return from South Korea after taking part in the fourth General Assembly of the Asian Political Parties.

The Maoists have already formed a 10-member high-level team headed by party chairman Prachanda to expedite the peace talks and resolve the political issues.
