Student abducted by Maoists found dead

A student who was abducted by the Maoists from Ghyangdanda, Sindhupalchowk district, has been found dead.

Bishal Tamang, a class 10 student of Kakling Harisiddhi Secondary School, who was abducted by a group of Maoists during a local fair in Ghjyangdanga last Friday, was found dead Thursday. His body was found buried in Bafal area of Lisankhu VDC, reports said.

Tamang was a permanent resident of Thulopakhar VDC-3. Though the Maoists have admitted to have abducted him they are yet to own up responsibility for his murder. The reason behind the abduction and the murder remains unknown.

Meanwhile, the local residents have protested the killing of the student. During his funeral procession in the afternoon, they chanted slogans against the Maoists and demanded punishment to the guilty, reports added.
